    About Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction provides academic support to students through facilitated study sessions and open labs. Trained and qualified Supplemental Instructional Assistants (SIs) facilitate sessions, attend classes, and encourage collaboration. SIs lead weekly sessions where students practice and discuss course content and develop study skills with their peers.

The SIs staff open labs in the Math and Writing Labs and the Clubhouse in the Taft College Library. They are free and open to all TC students.

All Taft College students are welcome to visit the labs anytime to ask questions, use computers, and take advantage of the many other resources available.

What SI Participants Have to Say...

"It's like having study buddies for all my classes in the same room."
"Here in the Clubhouse, there is always someone to save the day, and there are some pretty smart students always around to help."
"The Clubhouse is like my second home. I like the environment. The SIs are really nice, and they are always willing to help everyone."
"I learn it over there in the classroom, and I understand it here in the session."
"The SI not only explained how to correct content and grammar but also helped me by explaining how to continue not to make the mistake."
